Spain/Morocco/Carnary Is./Portugal
Sandy and I flew to Barcelona on Thursday the 11th in the am, checked into the hotel, then took a local bus into town as the hotel was at the airport. We set off to explore the area, after having a late lunch at a great Tapas bar, it was recommended by the hotel concierge. It was fab..great food. We were then off to find the cable car ride at the top of the park, well we saw the Olympic stadium, a beautiful park and a museum, we finally did find the cable car, however it was then closed. We had a great walk, we hopped a bus to take us back down the hill, then got on the local bus back to the hotel. On Friday morning we took the hotel shuttle to the pier, checked in and then went off on the hop on/hop off tour bus to see all of the main sights of Barcelona. What a great city, we didn't have enough to time to see it properly, but got a good idea of it, would love to return to see all of Goudi's works. We boarded to the NCL Jade sailing at 7pm for Casablanca.
Spent a day at sea, arrived in Casablanca on Sunday the 14th, we elected to take an overnight excursion to Marrakech, what a great experience it was, we boarde the ship in Adgir on Monday evening (the ship had to wait to sail for our bus to return). There were approx 30 of us that went on this excursion. We sailed for Las Palmas in the Canary Island, arriving the next day in the am, went up to Bandama for a view of the island. Great view and the scenery up was wonderful. We set sail that evening for Funchal, Maderias (Portugal) arriving on Wednesday am, walked into town for a look around and some shopping, then took an excursion to Eira Do Serrado and Monte, Eira Do Serrado was high up in the mountains and had view of the villages in the valley, great view, as there was fog and clouds, but a clear view. Then from the village of Monte we took a cable car ride back down to town, awesome views. We sailed that evening with a day at sea arriving in Malaga on Friday. We ventured into town, visited the castle and Picasso's house, then back to the ship for our excursion which took thru the countryside to the town of Mijas, in the mountains, was a great town, did some shopping and sightseeing then headed back to the ship. Our last day of the ship Saturday was a day at sea arriving in Barcelona for our flights back to London on Sunday. What a great trip we had and so enjoyable we had a fab time.

Thought I should update you all again. It is now Thursday the 11th. Sandy and I are at the London City Airport waiting for our flight to Barcelona, where we will stay overnight then board a cruise on Friday for 9 days. Looking forward to it, so watch for the update from that.
Sandy arrived on Sunday the 7th, we checked out some of the main sights of London, then on monday we did a tour to Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and Bath. It was a long day, however saw lots - now I can say that I've been to Stonehenge and seen the rocks. The cathedral at Salisbury is pretty impressive, the Roman baths in Bath we good, but would rather of spent that time wondering in all the wonderful boutiquey shops they have. Oh well, will just have to make a day trip out to Bath to do that.
I worked on Tuesday and Wednesday while Sandy did some London tourist stuff. We went to see pantomine on Tuesday night Cinderalla, it was good. The ugly stepsister were played by men and the audience participated. Was great and funny. On Wednesday night went to see Imagine This at the New London Theatre in Covent Garden. Was a great musical. Then home to pack and finish up all the last minute things, as the car service was arriving at 6:30am to take us to the airport. Which is where I am now waiting to fly to Barcelons.. Stay tuned for updates.
